ASTRA

Astra is an Italian and Argentinian DJ and producer from Rome, Italy who now resides in Toronto Canada. Astra learned to produce electronic music starting in 2012, having been influenced by electronic genres in the years prior he began creating Progressive and Big Room house in those early years. Since then, he has explored and performed several genres, such as Dubstep under the alias Love X Violence which he was largely active from 2015-2020.

His current musical direction in Astra can be described as the merging of his past within techno, with intricate bass sounds originating from dubstep, the melodies from progressive music and the energy cascade of Big Room House.

Astra has recently performed at many of Toronto's top venues such as Nomad and Vertigo as well as various high profile Warehouse events, performing alongside many top level talent from around the world such as Maddix, Wehbba, Alex Stein, Joyhauser and Layton Giordani. Astra continues to produce originals and present them in his sets, while also carefully crafting edits and mashups to make each performance unique and memorable.
